from Terry Kint
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter, softened
1/4-1/2 c. Crisco
3-5 Tbs. ice cold water
Place some water in freezer to get it cold. Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Add all of butter and 1/4 c. Crisco and cut in with a pastry blender until clumps form. Add more Crisco as necessary to achieve a good consistency. Add ice water a little at a time, just enough so dough sticks together when pressed gently. Dough should not be wet or slippery. Shape into a ball. Place between 2 sheets of plastic wrap and use rolling pin to roll into a circle that will fit an 8 or 9 inch pie plate.
