Cinnamon Biscuit Rolls

makes 12 biscuits

3 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 Tbs sugar
1 tsp salt
¾ tsp cream of tartar
¾ cup butter

1 cup milk

2 Tbs melted butter
3 Tbs brown sugar
1 Tbs cinnamon

1. Stir together dry ingredients. Cut in butter with a pastry blender. Make a well in the flour mixture and add milk. Stir until just moistened. Turn dough onto a lightly-floured surface and knead for 4-6 strokes.

2. Roll dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.

3. Brush with melted butter. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.

4. Roll up rectangle lengthwise and cut through the roll to make ½ thick biscuits. Place on baking sheet. Bake at 450* for 10-12 minutes.

5. While baking, mix together 1 cup powdered sugar, ½ tsp. vanilla, and a little milk. Drizzle over biscuits as soon as they come out of the oven.
